Topic: Shonen vs. Shojo?! (Read 2390 times)

Shonen being: 'anime and manga for boys' aka action and adventure etc.

Shojo being: 'anime and manga for girls' aka romance and drama etc.

Of course, these are the just the 'tip of the iceberg' so to speak... there are many more demographic divisions and thematic types.

I suspect this poll will tilt more towards Shonen.... >< anyway... please feel free to discuss if you would like to mention any recommended animes...

I wasn't saying that...I meant most if not all anime is good. even the non-action ones. But there are some I just WILL not watch <_<

Not really. Two of my friends keep trying to get me to watch, umm...a certain kinda of anime -glares at the A-Team-, and I don't prefer it is all I am saying.

Dont worry Gravitation isnt that good of an anime, Elfen Lied is one sick and twisted anime. I advise watching it.

Considering the only two anime series I actually care about (Black Cat and Elemental Gelade) are shonen, that's what I prefer.

Plus the legendary Dragonball Z that introduced most people to anime was shonen.

I also voted for O___o but only because I had no idea what you were talking about... Honestly, I'm along the lines of CA, I think they're equally good... and I don't think it has anything to do with gender... simply put when you're more mature you can appreciate a broader scope of things... and who here is more mature than him? :-D I'm sure I'm not. Though after wikipediaing it I can't imagine what he has against Gravitation...

If the storyline is bad after 5 episodes, then it doesn't matter how good it gets afterwards, as most people aren't masochists, and won't want to watch the next X episodes.

It doesn't matter if you watch the entire thing or not. The storyline should be gripping, if not initially, then soon after, because otherwise people will just not watch.

Okay, so I read the manga of Gravi, and apparently the plots are a little different, but it still is a great story and it gathers a huge amount of fans.

Alex: 5 is just a number I chose randomly. In reality, people will usually only watch one or two episodes of a series before making their judgment on in.
