If the storyline is bad after 5 episodes, then it doesn't matter how good it gets afterwards, as most people aren't masochists, and won't want to watch the next X episodes.

It doesn't matter if you watch the entire thing or not. The storyline should be gripping, if not initially, then soon after, because otherwise people will just not watch.

Okay, so I read the manga of Gravi, and apparently the plots are a little different, but it still is a great story and it gathers a huge amount of fans.

Most guys I know hate Gravitation because it's about 2 guys. As in, two gay guys.
I don't know what's so bad about it, but guys seem to hate it :\

I stand corrected, it did mention it but if you only speak english it's not very obvious.  Granted it's obvious if you already know, but I completely missed that.  Oh, well.
