Hmm... Let's see...

I've always believed that my college experience must've been massively different than most people I've known.  I'm 4 years out of college now (Bach. in Engineering,) and I still miss it.  My dorm was awesome - we were known as the overseas floor, since over half of the guys had spent time or grew up outside the US.

  • Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, France, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, South Korea, Phillipines, Papua New Guinea)
  • We had the kid from Saudi Arabia right next door to the guy from Israel - priceless.  (Of course, it helped that the guy from Saudi was actually a son of an American businessman, and not Arabic or Muslim at all.)
  • World Cup and the Olympics - excellent.
  • The absolutely awesome Papua New Guinea MK's who knew Tok Pidgin and owned a Didgeredoo (when you really want to make some noise at the sports events, or just tick off the floors below you.)

...Oh, and the classes weren't too bad, either.  I guess.

Not to bad is pretty good for Engineering, from what I've heard about it.

Yeah, I was referring to Engineering.

Mind you, I've not yet experienced the whole university thing for myself, so anything I say on the topic is secondhand.

I'm mildly curious as to how it exactly works. And while I'm not certain about Canada, The US is fairly straightforward.

You fill out an application to the school you want to apply and they select students based on a series of criteria: Grades, attendance, extracurricular activities, racial equality, etc. There's a long rant related to that last one but I won't get into it.

thats a load of bull. the UAI sucks like crapzola...  that sounds slightly easier that doing the fecking HSC
