Regardless of what this may look like (and it's not) I sent us way off topic.

Now I understand the inner workings of the Australian educational system.

What determines the status of an university? Longevity? Location?

I've got one about a mile from my apt that's fair to middling, but in a nice neighborhood, but on the same note I live about 20 miles away from one of the top schools in a crime infested location. THis makes no sense to me.

Mike: In the same vein of thought, the British were trying to reclaim land in the War of 1812. Besides, at the time, the White House, and DC, for that matter, really was not the massive target that we now think of today. DC, as a city, had been up for only about twenty years at this point.

Besides, the Americans don't brag about burning Toronto to the ground, do they?

All in all, the War of 1812 was a draw, and ultimately led to better relations between GB and the US.

In the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), UTS stands for "University of Toronto Schools" and is like the super smart rich-kid high school.
