It's an RPG set in the universe of the Halo video game series of course, taking place after the events of the first game.
Rules: Simple rules, just have common sense, don't god-mod, don't control other peoples characters, don't double post, don't edit your post unless it's just grammar or a typo, or adding needed information to your character bio that you forgot or neglected to add. If you weren't at the place where an event happened, you don't know about 'less someone told you. Out of character comments should be in aqua. Only 3 characters each.

After the destruction of Alpha Halo (that was the first Halo, right?) the Covenant are enraged and plan a full attack on one of the UNSC ships, which is where the story begins.
I'll release a mission briefing for the UNSC and Covenant sides each time a "Mission" is cleared, above is the mission briefing for the first mission, which happens to be for both Covenant and UNSC.
----
Ranks (Spartan's and Arbiter are prohibited.)
UNSC
Marine - The most disposable members of the UNSC, you may choose this if you wish, but it's not recommended.
Officer - The default choice for the UNSC, either you start here or as a Marine, you may get promoted to a Lieutenant and later a Commander however.
Lieutenant - They serve directly under the Commander, battle ready soldiers, must be promoted from an Officer to be.
Commander - The highest you can get, you can command the other UNSC soldiers below you (though they can choose to dis-obey.), must be promoted from a Lieutenant to play as.
Covenant
Grunt - The most disposable members of the Covenant, they are weak but surprisingly have a good throwing arm. They cannot be promoted.
Elite/Brute - The default choice for the Covenant, either you start as a Grunt or this, in order to play as the later ranks, you must be promoted.
Red Elite/Brute Lieutenant - More powerful than their original ranks, they are more battle prepared and have some authority over the original ones (Brute Lieutenants can give some orders to Brutes and Grunts, they can be disobeyed however. Same goes for Red Elites and regular Elites and Grunts.)
Gold Elite/Brute Chieftain - The highest you can get, they are only succeeded in command by the High Prophets or the Arbiter, they can command any other Covenant Soldier, but can still be disobeyed. Gold Elites can also be changed to White Elites for those who prefer, but only appearance differs.
