It got me thinking of ridiculous laws (what kind of difference will nine months make?!)

For example: In California it is Illegal to shoot game from a moving vehicle unless it is a whale. Why you say? Because apparently boats don't count as vehicles. What is wrong with the world when we get laws like this?

Apparently, these are all Australian laws. They may or may not be true. Hell if I know. These are things my mother tells me. It would surprise if they were.

1) One cannot come closer than 100 meters from a dead whale's carcass.

2) You may never leave your car keys in an unattended vehicle.

3) It is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes, felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these items are the tools of a cat burgular.

4) It is illegal to walk on the right hand side of a footpath.

5) Under Australian Communications Authority (ACA) regulations, a modem can't pick up on the first ring. If it does the ACA permit for your modem is invalid and there's a $12,000 fine.

6) Taxi cabs are required to carry a bale of hay in the trunk.

7) Bars are required to stable, water and feed the horses of their patrons.

9) The legal age for straight sex is 16, unless the person is in the care/custody of the older person, in which case it is 18.

Number 9 is true in the UK. Strangely the legal age for sex here is 16 but the legal age for buying porn is 18. Wtf!?

I'm going to pretend that last post didn't happen on this family oriented all ages website that we are enjoying each other's company on and ponder a previous one.

Maybe taxi's require a bale of hay so that when someone dies in the car they can use the hay to cover up the smell until they can get rid of the body.

Heh...there are two dumb ones for Alberta as well.

1) You may not drive a motorized vehicle while sleeping;
2) *twitch* All cattle/livestock must be kept inside while driving on the highway (like duh!)

Everyone loves to ride in a one-horse-open sleigh. On Ontario highways the horse must have two bells attached to its' harness, or two bells must be fastened to the sleigh. The fine for not obeying this law - $5.

You can't drag a dead horse down Yonge St. on a Sunday.

Damn...I knew that sleigh bell law too, or heard about it rather.

In Alberta they can still hang you for horse theft as well
