Backstory for a Game in Progress
« on: October 17, 2007, 05:30:20 PM »
Hey there, I'm working on a little Computer Game (based on Cave Story, same engine, some parralels and stuff, made with the level editor but will have different sprites. It'll be massively changed, especially the plot.) and I wanna make sure the backstory for the game is at least somewhat okay, so here goes.

In the year 3411, a group a robot soldiers had returned to the an Artificial Planet (a Death Star, minus the evil Sith) called Ceriule after a mission to retrieve an artifact with extreme amounts of power within it. The leader of an Lizard Alien Race called the "Vommog" arrives the discuss the use of this Artifact, as it's power could easily be mis-used.

During his visit a gigantic power-blast hits Ceriule from no-where, destroying Ceriule and with it, everyone on it, including the Vommog Leader. The "Vice Leader" of the Vommog, Umtuli Vucgulja (these aren't just random names by the way, they have meaning, I'm just not saying.) blames the humans, the main inhabitants of Ceriule, for the death of their leader and rages war against the humans.

The advanced technology of the humans was lost with Ceriule, only a little bit of it remains, and the remaining humans return to Earth, which was abandoned long ago.

The game takes place on Earth and you control a former member of Ceriule's Elite Defense, Noah Raster, and are forced to fight off the pissed-off Vommog and their other alien allies AND fight off the "Fyugnum", monstrous beings that moved in to Earth after the humans left.

Another character to mention is Daniel Thatch, a guide to you (the Kazuma transmissions are replaced by Daniel contacting Noah and telling him sometimes useful info, sometimes unuseful info.).

What do you guys think?

I think it seems rather thought out at the moment. Although dropping all these names right off the bat seems somewhat arbitrary at this point, it may just be that we need more first.
