Mike could make it himself and if he wanted it done I'm fairly sure he
would
do it himself.
Although knowing him he would start it, release an alpha-demo take in all the bug reports and then stop and give up

You're both right. I would start by swapping the sprites (and, putting Quote in his place), and then I would try to modify the dialogue a bit to support it. Then I would fail/give-up/lose interest.
