Just kidding. The Large Hadron Collider is going operational in about 24 hours. For those not in the know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider I have no idea what this means for current science, but I'm all for massively complex machines that smash atoms together. Here's to science!

hey i was watching dicovery channel about that thing! i think it means cheaper energy along with laser technology... although yea... i dont get it either

Yea... so much for that. It is apparently going to be down until spring of 2009. Hopefully they will have gotten their computer security fixed as well.
