24 hours until the world ends!

:D Just kidding. The Large Hadron Collider is going operational in about 24 hours. For those not in the know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider I have no idea what this means for current science, but I'm all for massively complex machines that smash atoms together. Here's to science!

Yea... so much for that. It is apparently going to be down until spring of 2009. Hopefully they will have gotten their computer security fixed as well.
