I had to set my tent up in a thunderstorm back on Thursday.
I headed to the Peaks of Otter to go solo camping on Thursday night. What I didn't know was that there was a thunderstorm warning for central Virginia that evening. I get to the campsite, only to have it begin pouring buckets as I arrive. I thought to myself, "screw this," and went to find something to eat at the nearby lodge (good country cookin'...mmm.) I finish dinner just as the rain lightened up; but just as I get back to the campsite, the rain starts up again. Keep in mind, I have a one-person mini tent that I use for backpacking, so there's barely enough room inside for my sleeping bag and a little gear. I finished setting up, and spent the next hour wiping up the rain that got inside, and playing "Phoenix Wright" on my DS. That night - I kid you not - in between the forest and the clouds and no moon, was *pitch black*. Thankfully, my flashlight worked fine, and the tent is most certainly waterproof.
