The Weird/Interesting Happenings thread.
« on: July 17, 2007, 02:48:20 PM »
Because weird things happen to all of us!
Dreams included XD

Here is a weird happening for me:

I was moving a bike a few nights ago, and it was real dark out. I looked up at the sky, and I almost cried because it was so beautiful. I usually live in Toronto and you can't see any stars there.
So, I randomly started thinking about random stuff, and I started thinking about the person closest to me and I saw my first shooting star n__n

Once I randomly found $40 in my purse right when I needed it. I thought I was totally broke. Should check those hidden pockets more often...

I was riding the train today when suddenly some guy starts picking his brutally. He didn't care everybody saw him he just kept picking for about 10 minutes. I keep wondering why hi nose didn't bleed.

Also, I was playing Dark Missah Might and Magic one day (not a very good game by the way). I kicked an orc down the stairs and "Leap Attacked" him (Jump+Attack) and the orc jumped 10 ft. into the air and crashed into a wall. It was very surprising.

Pistol's really quite easy to kill with in swat, but to have them spawn like that is quite strange. The spawn time must have been next to nil for that to happen. Did you mess around with the game options?

I think the spawn location is weirder, unless he was hanging out in the opponents base.

no i didn't mess with the spawn time it was the standard five and theres like a 4 second period befor you lose the chain so it kind of made sense... but the map was lockout the spawn poins are like 5 miles appart granted one of my kills was long range (hehe i made him go off the ledge) but still...

I had to set my tent up in a thunderstorm back on Thursday.
I headed to the Peaks of Otter to go solo camping on Thursday night.  What I didn't know was that there was a thunderstorm warning for central Virginia that evening.  I get to the campsite, only to have it begin pouring buckets as I arrive.  I thought to myself, "screw this," and went to find something to eat at the nearby lodge (good country cookin'...mmm.)  I finish dinner just as the rain lightened up; but just as I get back to the campsite, the rain starts up again.  Keep in mind, I have a one-person mini tent that I use for backpacking, so there's barely enough room inside for my sleeping bag and a little gear.  I finished setting up, and spent the next hour wiping up the rain that got inside, and playing "Phoenix Wright" on my DS.  That night - I kid you not - in between the forest and the clouds and no moon, was *pitch black*.  Thankfully, my flashlight worked fine, and the tent is most certainly waterproof.

Water proof tents are good, even better if they stay water proof when you touch them... which seems to be the bane of tents... which I think is weird... yet apparently my wife thinks it makes perfect sense which is a weird thing that happened...

It's actually internal condensation. Generally, when it rains, the temp inside the tent is going to be significantly higher than the outside, especially with a backpacking tent. So everytime something touches the wall, chemical reactions happen, lights flash, small squirrels explode, and the warm air condenses.

I spent many years doing it accidentally with my sleeping bag, until I got a backpacking tent big enough for my 6'4" frame.

have you ever been in a backpacking tent? Some of them are designed for what a midget would consider small.

On that note, no, I got "big" backpacking tents, but they're still small.

This is a boring story, but it qualifies as "weird". I was casually standing on the street, hanging out with some friends. I sow a woman walking her dog a few moments ago. Suddenly, the dog's leash snapped and the dog headed right to our direction. I crouched and extended my hand to calm the dog down and it worked. The dog stayed there long enough for its owner to reattach the leash and keep walking it.

Anyway I'm going to revive this thread with some weird/ interesting stories from the day Whitey and I spent in the City <3.

so here's the interesting things:

we saw in the middle of Pitt Street Mall [big phat shopping strip in the middle of sydney] a busker playing.... you'll never guess what... a TUBA!!!! he was soooo cool <3

then we went up and ambushed the Free Hugs Guy!!!!!! you should all know him from YouTube. He gave us a WTC look but then hugged us anyway. <3333333333333

and then.... we saw more buskers.... drumming on plastic barrels and wooden boxes and the sound was tres awesome!!!!

and then we played spot the emo/punk/goth and we got 39 emo/punk/goths in half an hour <3

A guy was playing a tuba in the middle of sqaure? AWESOME!

Here is a random happening:

I wanted to print out sheet music for a concert band arrangement of a FFVII suite, and the music office computer is out of ink.
So I went upstairs and asked the awesome art teacher if he had an available printer.
He showed me a room with two printers, and said don't use the colour printer, #64.
Me: "Okay"And me, being the idiot I am, couldn't understand the signs for no reason, and printed the first Alto Sax's part on the colour printer.
I felt really bad >_>

All in all, I printed 88 pages. There was supposed to be 91, but I didn't print out the piano's part for some really dumb reason. I figured it's part & the keyboard part would be similar.
It's not.

I should tell that to my music teacher.
He plays tuba, and says that tubas are the greatest instrument ever, and that flutes suck.
Then the flutes mob him and kill him /notreally.

Another interesting happening:
While my friend and I were out for lunch, I kept playing the song "Bing Bang" from Lazy Town, through my phone, and dancing/singing to it.
He put his headphones on and ignored me :/
Then my other friend was holding my phone, still playing the song, while I went through my backpack looking for something, and he turned it off on me. And I was sad.
All this time, I had my headphones for my actual mp3 player around my neck.
So I'm still going through my bag...and I am like..."wtf" so I check my headphones and (awesome song) Opus Relinique was playing!:S But I had my mp3 player OFF. As in, my friend saw me turn it off.
I said "that weird :/"

Five minutes later, my friend Dylan and I went one way, my other friend went one way, and I was pondering it...and Dylan goes "He grinned when you said your mp3 player was on."
Me: ....Bastard! I had it off for a reason!!!
Then, 50 minutes later, I turn it on, and the battery was dead. :/

yea my teachers this year are alot nicer so i dont have to worry now but another weird thing, my fourth period teacher makes anyone in the class who is even a minut late (happened to me and another once) has to write five paragraphs of why we were late how it effects the class and such, i find it wierd because only one person in our class can finish it befor the end of class and we have to do the work in the hall.

I wrote an entire essay in one period. (And no, it didn't suck, my teacher said it was really good)

Weird happening: I actually WALKED home today.

Weird Happenings, through-out my life.

Y'see, a lot of times, I think of songs in my head, and many, many times, within the next 10 minutes of (usually during) my thinking of a song, my brother starts singing the exact song and the exact part of the song I was thinking about, hell one time I asked him where he heard the song and he said "I dunno, just popped into my head."

This has happened at least 10 times in my entire life, possibly a lot more.

And test essays aren't all that weird. I've written many of them, and will again do so next Monday. Get used to them.

yeah, i meant those as 2 thoughts though...^^:

5 paragraphs on that randm subject he mentioned is nothing

but I've always had trouble writing actual essays that you get marked on. dunno why. so i said there i wrote one in one period, and it was weird because usually im revising them a million times.

You conjugate badly.

Also, with test essays, you're more concerned with actually writing the essay that you don't get to revise them a million times. As such, the teachers aren't looking for as polished a work.
