The General All-Purpose Castlevania Thread
« on: November 29, 2008, 05:45:35 PM »
This can be a "This is a ____ thread now talk about _____" but I actually have some questions XD
First off I LOVE Castlevania. LoveloveloveloveloveLOVE. I've loved it since I was 4 years old :D

I (Sort of) recently purchased Dracula X for the PSP and I got to play Symphony of The Night, which IMO is one of the best games ever :)

Anyone else a Castlevania fangirl/boy as much as I am, or at all?

Also, has anyone played Curse of Darkness? It's one of the games I'm looking into buying, and I wanted to get a few opinions before I made a decision.

I played the first Castlevania a long, long, long time ago.
I don't even recall what it was at the time.

For a non-Castlevania fan, which game do you suggest I begin playing?

Glee! I love Castlevania too. I think the best games in the series are Aria Of sorrow (GBA) and Dawn of Sorrow (DS)

I still have to say SotM is the best of the series so far.

And then there's the new fighting game that just came out. We'll pretend it doesn't actually exist.

Yeah Castlevania!

Probably my current favorite game series.  I'm a huge fan of castletroid games because of it (and Metroid, and La-Mulana, and Eternal Daughter, and others.  No, I don't count Cave Story as a castletroid, even though CS is an awesome game nevertheless.).

As proof: /me is listening to M. Yamane, M. Kimura - Wizardry Lab - "Dracula's Tears" Downmix ["Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Downmixes by Jorge Fuentes)"]

But yeah, I've played most Cv games, except the 3D ones (for N64 and PS2, and Judgement if that's out already).  Oh wait, I'm also missing Order of Ecclesia.  But I'm familiar with most of the series.

Avoid it. Like the PLAGUE! It's utterly atrocious.

I've heard bad things about it.

Edit: In particular, I've heard that Grant finally shows up again, but he doesn't deserve such s***ty design.

My big concerns are Maria, Alucard, and Eric.
WTF @ Eric. He is now a pre-pubescent GIRL. D<
