Ares' Sprite Stuff
« on: July 18, 2007, 10:32:21 AM »
I animate sprites quite a bit (through MS Paint and Unfreeze), and I managed to make an actual sprite fight a good while ago. Here's the link to it since it loops and you would probably have missed the beginning by reading this if I just posted it.

Um...link?

By the way, it's Rock Lee (from the Naruto manga) versus Sonic the Hedgehog (you better know him).

Also, if anyone wants to tell me how to hyperlink properly, that would be great.

EDIT: Thanks Pillow, gots it now.

Firstly, like this?
Code: [Select]
insert text here??

Secondly, I totally adore this.
Mainly because it has Rock Lee. <4<4<4<4<4<4
But also because it rocks, and the surprise ending =P

Heh, thanks people, I am pretty proud of it. Throw in the fact that I'm arrogant, and well....you get the point.

I actually was planning on having multiple surprise endings (I even started one with Shadow the Hedgehog), but my computer was formatted and I lost all the individual frames.

However, that was MS Paint. Now I have Photoshop, and am working on a new fight. With a background. And Fighter Joe (of Kirby fame, and apparantaly now SSB Brawl fame) kicking multiple people's ass.

By the way, I need three more people for him to fight, so if anyone has suggestions, that would be great. So far he fights...

Roy (Fire Emblem 6)
Eve (From Black Cat manga, but sprites from Jump Superstars)
Miles "Tails" Prower (Sonic Battle)
Ino Yamanaka (Naruto: Ninja Council....I think)

And one surprise fighter at the end. They need to be GBA or SNES sprites and not from any of the above mentioned series. Any ideas are good, thanks.

EDIT: Is this too fast? I'm not completley sure...

It might not be too fast, but it'd look better if there were more frames... and though I'm sure he's amazing enough to do an uppercut from the air it looks kinda ridiculous...

Suggestion... Frog or Magus from Chrono Trigger... cause that'd be odd... Or maybe Robo, he can body slam.  :-O

Alright, I'll start the uppercut from the ground, and give Roy a slower landing with more frames. And Frog would be hilarious, I think I'll try that, thanks.

How's this? I think the uppercut is too slow now. Joe has very few frames, versus someone who has no movement frames but like 70 for attacking.

Indeed...much better now that you slowed it a bit ^^

You need a happy medium between the two. Otherwise it's awesome.
Maybe slow the rushing animation and speed up the uppercut. Part of the reason I think it looks too slow is that you only slowed down that one part and left everything else at it's original speed.

The second uppercut is highly unrealistic. You wouldn't be able to keep yourself in the air like that going at that speed. Plus it makes his shift across the screen look weird.

Indeed... faster at the bottom slower at the top.  If you honed this one animation to the point it actually seemed realistic that'd be a job well done. ;-)

Alright, let's see...how about he dashes to the very left of the screen and tries an uppercut? I'll leave Roy's animation and see if I can get that up right now.

Oh, and thanks for the help people. This is probably going to look way more badass than my last one now. Also, need two more fighters.

Attempt 3

I believe it was attempt 5.

And now you need to finish the battle.
