Dragon Kingdom: continued
demon of razgriz:
thats right i finaly did it, after months and months of battiling procrastination, writers block, laziness (see procrastination), and more recently the fact that i moved to toronto, i FINALY got it done (mostly). dont expect good grammer although ive been working on my spelling and on how i present the story so it should be better then i thought it would, a word to the wise though, there is more narration in my story then conversation, mainly due to marco's lack of socialization so im sorry if thigs get confusing. and on the matter of updates... well.. chances are it will be at least as twice as often as Dark Dragon XD *prepaires for enevitable retaliation*
Chapter 1: Back Again
Marco rolled to the side avoiding his attacker’s strike, the man rushed at marco again but he was prepared this time; in one swift movement Marco unsheathed tusaki and swept the mans legs, he fell over and marco stabbed him, he was almost certainly dead. Marco walked over and put his left foot on the back of the body’s neck, a threat to the remaining attackers, the three masked men stood armed and very hesitant, they each took a look at each other before revealing hidden short bows in unison.
“your kidding me…”
marco said in disdain just before leaping for cover, he could hear the twang and thud of arrows as they either bounced or stuck into the tree marco had used as a shield
“damn… these ones are tougher than usual”
Marco could hear the sound of footsteps not too far away, almost as though they were staying the same distance,
“they’re trying to flank me…” Marco laughed slightly “trying… that is…”.
The feeling came naturally now; Marco didn’t even have to think anymore it just happened as if it were a reflex, that same glowing purple aura surrounding Tusaki as it did, the feeling of another sword in hand and the sense of time slowing down even though marco knew that it was only himself speeding up. Marco let out a deep breath and rushed to the unfortunate opponent who chose to flank to his left.
A quick thrust struck down the enemy. Marco quickly looked behind himself, he dropped down on all fours to avoid two chest-height arrows that flew overhead, he was fast but arrows were faster. Marco gathered himself and dashed towards the two others, about half way they released two more arrows which emotionlessly charged Marco at speeds that still made him think twice. Marco slid, avoiding the two arrows and finishing his rush. Before the two had time to escape he dispatched them. Soon all had returned as it once was.
Marco continued along his way through the blue forest, leaves blowing in the summer wind above. A feeling of nostalgia went through Marco’s mind as he walked the barely noticeable path that he himself had walked countless times before. He began to recount the events that took place here ten years ago, the events that bound marco’s fate to its present condition. He could remember both Ruby and Pepti, annoying he had thought at first but that quickly changed as events had progressed, soon Marco came to respect those two. Marco’s thoughts now drifted to his attackers.
“Merc’s for sure,” he thought, “probably promised a huge sum to return Tusaki to their customer…”
they were clearly not revealed to Marco’s abilities lest they get the idea to take it for themselves. Marco paused and reached into his rucksack for some food finding only nothing. He laughed
“forget this, I’m going to sleep” although the sun was high in the sky he had been travelling a far distance and his recent battle had not helped any, he quickly searched for a shaded area and lied down to rest.
the first chapter is much smaller then the next few... i dont plan to continue naming the chapters but i wanna see how far i can go before i stop making sense ^.^ also: im not sure how long i plan for this to be but im assuming its gonna be quite long if i can keep up
Dark Dragon:
I suppose i will have to try to update more now, huh? Nah, although yeah I don't update as much as I would like. But your story is good so far.
demon of razgriz:
maybe if you concetrated on a small few of them things would go smoother? *throws two cents on the ground*
i actually plan to post at least once every 1-2 weeks so i can give myself enough time to get a new chapter done every time i post one so its probably a good thing i got 4 done ahead of time ^.^'
Dark Dragon:
Indeed.
demon of razgriz:
and here it is! the "highly" anticipated second chapter!
Chapter 2: Ruined Town of Gal
After an uneventful night Marco continued his journey to Gal, the place of his birth; it was a two day walk that spanned a wide prairie and a relatively large green leafed forest the end of which lay just outside the entrance to Gal. Marco walked up to the entrance, hastily built wooden walls line the perimeter of marco’s old home, off in the distance you could see people moving old rubble from inside the settlement to somewhere out of sight.
Two elven guards clad in plate mail grasped their lances expecting a fight but then quickly relaxed themselves when Marco got close enough to be made out. The guards signaled for the gate to be opened and Marco entered, he felt a little homesick, the first time in a very, very long time in fact, even though this was the location of his hometown it was very different.
Small wooden houses lined the places already cleared away and no one seemed to care what happened more than a mile out of town. He had always felt differently when he was here though he could not explain why.he thought to a year back when he travelled here, a trek which Marco took every year starting seven years ago, he remembered being surprised that people had once again begun to settle there. They were at first apprehensive about trusting marco considering most of them were either exiled or survivors of attacks on other lands but after marco helped them build the first few shelters and told them of what these ruines ment to him they welcomed him with open arms.
A group of children playfully ran past Marco with one trailing behind, he stared for a moment not realizing that someone had come up from behind him.
“Well! If it isn’t Marco! Why it’s been, what, a year now? How ya been?”
Marco turned around to find a burly, middle aged human smiling behind him. “Hello Raymond, yes it has”.
Raymond Renolds, one of the first people who trusted Marco enough to let him stay.
“Always the reliable one eh? You came back just like you said you would.”
“Of course, this is my home town after all”. Marco looked around although it was his home town, it felt alittle alien to him when he said that.
“Well, you must be tired, come, you can rest at my place” although not really all that tired, Marco willingly obliged. Raymond led Marco to one of the more developed houses; it had at least four rooms including a small storage area.
Raymond opened the door to find an empty house; they both entered, it had been a long time since Marco slept indoors, for free no less, the place looked pretty messy, marco just gave Raymond a quizzical look
“hey, cut me some slack, I’ve been busy…” Raymond looked away embarrassed. Marco put his stuff down by the door and kind of stood around, bored, it was still noon and Marco didn’t like to stand around doing nothing and Raymond noticed this
“you up for a little work?”
“What kind?” Marco responded interested
“we’re building a school; our numbers have been increasing quite a bit recently so it was finally decided as the next best course of action”. Although careful not to show it- Marco was ecstatic his home was finally brimming with life again, it was clear how marco responded.
and there it is, now i gotta make up for the crash i had last week =_=;
